Our Story — Built for the Remote Apiary
HiveSense was born from a simple frustration: why don't beekeeping apps work when you're actually with the bees?
Beekeeping is an outdoor, hands-on activity. Yet, most digital tools are designed for the office, requiring high-speed internet and clean hands to operate. In the middle of a field, cell signal is often non-existent, and fumbling with a phone while wearing gloves is impossible.
Jas Rowinski, a software developer and beekeeper, realised that for technology to be truly useful at the hive, it had to be invisible. It had to work without internet, it had to be hands-free, and it had to put the health of the colony first.
Today, HiveSense is used by thousands of beekeepers worldwide to log inspections, track queen lineage, and monitor hive health using AI and BLE sensors—all without ever needing to touch a cloud server in the field.

Our Mission
To empower beekeepers with smart, local-first technology that turns observations into insights, helping save colonies and improve apiary productivity.
